This project was part of the Macquarie University iLearn initiative and was developed for Department of Psychology, Faculty of Human Sciences. This course is designed to deliver learning materials and experiences to third year university under graduate Psychology students. The task was to develop a series of videos for the course, following an existing unit guide structure which would be delivered primarily online.
As Producer of the video resources, I consulted with the unit Lecturer, Research Assistant and Educational Developers to analyse existing content and approaches, learning requirements, unit guide (curriculum) and appropriate approaches for the inclusion of video. We developed an approach in which conventional two-hour lectures were reorganised into smaller parts, incorporating an interview outlining the key concepts and understandings, a narrated slideshow featuring key research, data and findings, interviews with working clinicians and researchers plus additional Moodle functionality and features including readings, quizzes, discussion boards etc. More information is outlined in the video found on iLearn Example Units.
The final videos are a key component of PSY337 Psychopathology online iLearn e-learning unit, delivered to Macquarie University Students from Semester 1, 2012.
